    Impactful Leadership and Social Responsibility

    Sat, July 9 (9:00am – 10:30am EDT)

ABOUT: Business, Community, Nonprofit leaders will discover what employees, consumers and community members expect from the organizations they work for, buy from and invest their time and resources when it comes to social impact initiatives and goals. We’ll share examples and different strategies that organizational leaders and brands are taking to attract and retain employees, consumers, volunteers and donors who want to affiliate themselves with businesses and organizations that have core values which align with their own.

Facilitator: Mali Phonpadith, CEO, SOAR Community Network

Messaging Monday: Messaging Formula (Vision, Villain & Value)

    Monday, July 11 (7:00pm – 8:00pm EDT)

ABOUT: The one thing everyone seems to agree on is that messaging often sucks. Ohio Progressive Action Leaders (OPAL) decided to something about it and brought together the best research and info on how to message effectively to win. Meryl Neiman, founder of OPAL, will share with us how we message effectively and then give us time to practice using their 3 part messaging formula: Vision, Villain & Value.

Facilitator: Meryl Neiman, co-founder of Ohio Progressive Action Leaders (OPAL)

You and the 34%: How to Have Meaningful Conversations with High-Potential Voters

    Monday, July 18 (7:00pm – 9:00pm EDT)

ABOUT: In 2020, 34% of eligible voters didn’t vote. In this training, you will learn how to make “I don’t vote” the beginning of the conversation, not the end. Dr. Jacqueline Tulsky and Elizabeth Chur share stories of success, and give you tools drawn from Motivational Interviewing to help you draw out “high-potential voters,” elicit their desires for change, and turn them into voters. Whether you’re new to canvassing and phone-banking or have been doing it for years, this interactive training is designed for you.

Facilitators:  Jacqueline Tulsky, MD, an HIV primary care and addiction medicine specialist and Motivational Interviewing trainer and Elizabeth Chur, an experienced phone banker and canvasser who trained hundreds of volunteers in 2020 through Swing Left San Francisco.

    Better Meetings for Better Results

    Saturday, July 23 (9:00am – 10:00 am EDT)

ABOUT: Organizations often live — and die — by their meetings. After all, meetings largely set the tone for how people relate and interact within organizations. Yet most meetings are rightly seen as unproductive wastes of time that squander human capital and cause disappointment and dysfunction. In this fun, practical, and hands-on session, you will learn how to transform your meetings so they are productive, engaging, and energizing. Good meetings bring organizations together and help them do more with less. No PowerPoint and no lecture; this will be a way for you to really see and use flexible tips and powerful hacks that will make all your meetings better.

Facilitators:  Lee Gimpel is an expert on the dynamics of meetings and conferences, focusing on productivity, engagement, and networking.

Messaging Monday: Messaging to White Women: You Might be Surprised

    Monday, July 25 (7:00pm – 8:00pm EDT)

ABOUT: With our democracy and fundamental rights on the line, the stakes are incredibly high this election year and beyond. There are millions of white women—not committed to either party—in rural, small town, and suburban America who want progress on things like access to healthcare and reproductive freedom, but whose voting behavior does not reliably reflect those values. Join Executive Director, Jackie Payne (she/her) to learn how Galvanize Action is working at the intersection of data science, behavioral psychology, and neuroscience to develop messages that are proven to move moderate white women toward progress in 2022 and beyond.

Facilitators:  Jackie Payne is the Founder & Executive Director of Galvanize.
